Let's start with what it is! The flipped approach is a new way of teaching. Unlike traditional lessons, the teacher shares the lectures with students using technology and the internet. Students take responsibility at this stage and monitor their learning process. This phase promotes the students' autonomy and is a great way to give them responsibility. Then, when the teacher and students meet in the classroom, they can do the practice. This way, the teacher has the space to create a communicative environment. Also, the teacher can step back to let students involve during lessons. The approach is useful in many ways however, the digital divide barrier is a concern just like in many ways while integrating technology into teaching.
For the task we created with my friend Birdem, we have chosen a grammar topic, the prepositions of time, from the coursebook that was given by MEB. Then, we worked on the video and used Google Slides to create our teaching material. Afterward, trying many different tools, we found the Slide Presenter the easiest to use. We record our voice on the slides and it was ready. To make the learning more efficient, we created some extra activities for students from Wordwall. This tool is very simple to use and a fun way to integrate technology into teaching. Finally, since it was the first time creating such videos for us, the hardest part was finding the best tool for us. In the end, it was a beneficial experience.
Here I share the video and the activities we created. You can take a look and give a comment.
